I’m Moritz-Alexander Thiel, physicist and scientist at Bauhaus Luftfahrt, where I work on innovative solutions for a climate-neutral aviation sector. As a doctoral candidate at RWTH Aachen, I combine academic rigor with applied research to help shape the future of energy systems.

Conducting research on future synthetic fuel development for sustainable aviation. Collaborating across disciplines to create life cycle analyses and technoeconomic analyses for solar fuels within the Sun to Liquid II project, and potential for implementation in aviation applications.

Optimized and scaled an electrochemical erosion process to synthesize highly active platinum nanoparticle catalysts for fuel cells. This novel, clean and simple approach promises the cost-effective synthesis of platinum nanoparticles in a non-toxic environment, advancing hydrogen applications.

Led the development of a Python-based system for magnetic field analysis in particle detection, including sensor integration and autonomous measurement routines.
